Senior season is busy. You book the session, shoot, cull, edit, deliver, and somewhere in between you are supposed to chase a deposit and a final payment. For a lot of photographers, that last part is the one that slips.
I’m Nick Kimel, and I make Onigiri, a simple invoicing tool for freelancers. I built it because most invoicing software is built for agencies with ten people and a finance team, not for someone running a portrait business from a laptop.
Here is how it fits a typical senior session:
- Send a booking deposit invoice the day the family says yes. They pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay from a link. No account needed on their side.
- Send the balance before delivery. The invoice is marked paid automatically when the payment comes in, so you are not checking your bank app between edits.
- Payments go straight to your own Stripe account. Onigiri takes no cut and never holds your money. You pay Stripe’s normal card fee, nothing on top.
Not ready to sign up for anything? Start with our free photography invoice template. Fill it in, download a PDF, done. No signup.

If you want the full app, there is a free plan with 3 invoices a month. SeniorInspire readers get 30% off the first year of Pro with the code SENIORINSPIRE30.
Onigiri is indie-made, without venture backing. If you try it, I’d love to hear what works for your business and what doesn’t. Just reply to any email from us. It comes straight to me.
